Fall and Halloween Prep at the Spear House

Well it is now the end of September and we've been enjoying our fall decorations for a while now so let the Halloween prepping begin! We will be breaking out the decorations Oct 1st and I can't wait. Oct 1st is special for many reasons but the two that come to mind are time to decorate for Halloween and time to by those Breaking Dawn Part 2 advance tickets!!! Can't wait * squeal* :)

First Fall leaf! I found it on my walk :)
What have we been doing??  Laura-care for kids, care for dog, care for house, work, nursing school, cook, clean, crochet, making soaps, decorating, working on my recipe blog, and of course wasting time on facebook and blogger and   >.<  but who doesn't. Oh yea and I almost forgot I graduated college...again... I know I know who cares.. (I DO) and since this is my blog you will now be forced to see a few photos lol.

last year but I love this picture. Photo by Andrea Jenkins
:)  Scott- Well he took the easy way out.... he's on board the USS Harry S Truman and out to sea for a short bit. Don't get your panties in a bunch I'm only kidding (he actually does almost everything with me, I'm one lucky gal) I know he's out there working hard, he always does.  Words cannot express how proud I am of all the sacrifices he made and the years of hard work he put in to get us where we are today. I haven't blogged in a while so in case you haven't heard he went up in rank. He is now a Lieutenant JG (O-2E)  in the United States Navy and has served for 11 years 7 months and 21 days but who's counting???? He's also started running back in January and has since run 2 half marathons, 2 spartan races with a third coming up in October, and a extreme bushwacker race, so proud! Anyways I beam with pride each and every time I see him and I love him more and more every day, who would of thought that would be possible?!?! Okay enough gushing, onto the kids.
O-1 photo, he hasn't done his O-2 photos yet but I love this one
I don't get to see him in uniform very often. Photo by Andrea Jenkins
Jennifer started 4th grade at a new school, she likes it a lot. Her class theme is the pirates which is right up her alley. She's still not a big fan of reading which surprises me considering how much we love to read.

Aurora started 3rd grade at a new school, she loves it! She is really doing well with reading and reading at 5th grade level (the girl is a total book worm).

Michael started 2nd grade at a new school, he is really enjoying it so far. So far Michael has earned a "green" everyday! This is such good news! He is also getting speech therapy and they are upping his amount of time which is fabulous. He also just started his 2nd year of boy scouts.

Honey is our amazing dog, she is spending fall chewing on bones, treats, toys, and me lol. She even got into the fall festivities by sporting her Halloween bandana.

So that about raps it up! Here we are in September and hopefully *crossing fingers* I will be able to stay on top of this blog more and not fall so far behind. I'm sure these long blog posts are as annoying for you to read as they are for me to write ;p

Don't forget if you have not already "Liked" my recipe blogs facebook fan page please do because it would mean a lot to me.

1st day of school for the Spear kids in their new school. So far they are really enjoying it!!! Jennifer is in 4th grade, Aurora is in 3rd grade, and Michael is in 2nd grade. I can't believe how fast time has gone by, seems like just yesterday they were babies. :(   They are very excited to see what Moncure Elementary brings!
